THINK JACOBSON & ROTH PRESENT MEDIA IN EXHIBITS WORKSHOP FOR CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF MUSEUM DELEGATES
July 26, 2000
SAN JOSE, CA - The annual CAM conference, titled Back to the Future: Securing Our Museums' Foundations for the Future, includes a pre-conference workshop facilitated by exhibit developers Think Jacobson & Roth. The workshop was specifically designed to support the theme of the conference. "With the year 2000 finally arriving, museums find themselves poised at the threshold of a bold new millennium. Competition for funding has become more intense while audiences are increasingly difficult to attract. Advances in technology are being made almost daily, demographic patterns have shifted, and the boundaries between education and entertainment have become blurred. As the world changes around us, how will museums respond? What will our role be in our communities, and how will that role evolve with societal change?" -- CAM 2000 Conference Program Overview
This special full day program, Incorporating Innovative Media into Exhibits: An Overview from A to Z, investigates and explores the use of multiple media within exhibit environments.
"The use of media in exhibits is increasingly expected by visually sophisticated and technically savvy audiences of all ages. This workshop is designed for those interested in incorporating media into existing or future exhibits. " says workshop facilitator Carla Roth.
Lori Jacobson of Think Jacobson & Roth describes the program: "A range of media will be reviewed in line with varying budget restrictions and audience types. There will also be an overview of the production process, planning for hardware installation and maintenance, and discussion of costs typically associated with the use of various media."
Invited audio-visual experts, hardware vendors and producers will provide information for attendees and will demonstrate both new and traditional media. Attendees will be given hand-outs and other take-away materials designed to assist in the planning and development of media-based exhibits.
